After our sister company, Abacus Sports Installations, was founded in 1991 by Spencer and Susan Proud, Abacus Surfaces quickly emerged as a consumer-focused distributor. Our rubber pavers, mats, and tiles are certified under the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System®. LEED is a voluntary and consensus-based nationally standardized program for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. It is sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council, and we are extremely proud to be a part of it!

Consumer Safety
Each of the products we offer has been tested extensively to ensure maximum comfort and safety. For instance, the PlayFALL playground and patio tiles can protect your children from falls up to 10 feet, while our customer-favorite POWERStock products provide shock absorption to ease the impact on your joints. Additionally, all of our products, including the GrassTex turf systems, are easy to clean and maintain, preventing harmful bacterial buildup and, most importantly, keeping you and your family safe!
Our Mission
While we work closely with Abacus Sports to provide professional installation services for sports and equine floors at the commercial level, the primary mission of Abacus Surfaces is to extend the same unmatched service and high-quality products usually reserved for commercial facilities to individual consumers for at-home use. We make all of our products easy to install for DIY application, and we ensure the safety of your family through the top-of-the-line products we offer.
For residential applications, we focus on American-made rubber floors, including fitness and gym flooring, rubber pavers, and rubber tiles for indoor and outdoor use. Our in-house fitness flooring brand, POWERStock, is comparable to Regupol surfaces -- the same sports floors used by Division I athletic programs and Olympians like Usain Bolt. We also offer "playground surfacing," which is suitable for backyard play spaces and, surprisingly, for beautiful patio and deck installations. Additionally, we provide recreational and athletic turf for landscaping and training areas. Finally, we offer a line of excellent animal flooring products, specifically designed for horse stalls and other equine spaces.
